Santa Monica is proposing to raise our water rates 91% increase over the next 5 years.

Santa Monica is proposing to raise our wastewater (sewer) rates 48% increase over the next 5 years.

THERE WILL ALSO BE 2 NEW FEES ADDED TO THE BILL

A FIXED SERVICE CHARGE (for water rates) that will range from $11.10 to $391.36 per bill. 

A WASTEWATER SERVICE FEE (for sewer rates) that will start at $11.32 for a duplex and increase $4.27 per unit after that.

Tiered water rate allowances have been lowered for single family residences in all tiers. Tier 2 and 3 allowances are lowered for multi-family residences.

Protest forms are needed from 50% of customers to prevent THESE MASSIVE INCREASES.

Condo owners in master metered buildings may protest by noting the APN or assessors parcel number along with their address on the protest form.

ALL FORMS MUST BE SIGNED BY PROPERTY OWNER OR CUSTOMER NAMED ON BILL.
